Dubai all White

Just back from a day and a bit in Dubai......Chauffeur Phantom from the airport (not bragging just an amazing experience - poor mans transport compared to the helicopter transfer they offer with a Versace interior - yes on the helicopter!)...but all great cars there are all white...Phantoms, RRS (HST's and SC's) 599, G55's and more white 7 series (it seems Emirates, Jumeirah Hotels and Qatar seem to own half of them!) than the rest of the world....

Maybe if you like a great pool and beach scene, it's not great.
Maybe though if you like butlers, choppers, and gold, then its great? 2022 P440e AB

Fair point Paulo Thumbs Up

Maybe a little quick off the mark with a rebuke there ( Laughing ) but from a personal point of view, it is the height of luxury if a little chintzy (Which kind of works as it fits in with the image of the hotel?) Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Seems its the sort of place you've got to stay so you can say you've done it, but I doubt you'd want to spend too long there (not having been myself).

It's too over the top and 'arab' - our room had yellow carpet, blue walls, gold bed and gold bath fittings.......restaurants are great - but my wife went and sat on the beach opposite all day - as staying in the hotel had very little atmosphere. I did enquire about the cost of the helicopter from the airport, but they didn't get back to me in time. But the Phantom was nice enough.

The Palace in Abu Dhabi is better....although when out there this time at the side of the Jumeriah Hotel, there is another small island appearing, just like th eone which the Burj sits on - and they are building - not sure what, but it's near the public beach, so might not be all that.....

Someone on the beach paid only £215 for their flights on Qatar via Doha....bargain!!!

Sorry to hear you didnt enjoy the burj. I really like it personally. On the note of QR tickets, it only worked out £20 more for me when I went to Dubai last time to go with QR Economy via DOH to DXB full fare than if I would have gone standby economy. They do bloody good deals! Michael Potter

If anyone is going to Dubai in June/July - Madinat are doing a great offer - only 999 AED and you get their best available room on allocation on arrival - everything from their basic arabian room (lovely rooms) to a suite!! Thats about £140 a night - bargain!!!

You can add limo pick up (A8 or 7 Series)

Great deals during the very hot months....
