BAD LUCK - it never rains but.....

Regular forum readers will now laugh, just lately I have been zapped for speeding ( 37 in a 30 ) had numerous electrical related problems and a recall ..... well I can add to that little lot. I now have a cracked/split/smashed/broken near-side passenger wing mirror housing Sad

Some one/thing during my lunch ( car parked in town ) has clobbered it and left me with a nice £91 bill to replace Crying or Very sad

Come on 2006............

these things happen in threes, and they look like they are being squeezed in to 2005 for you, hopefully things will be better from tmrw onwards.

Hey at least its only £91! i had the same incident in our Bmw 7 series, which has auto dimming exterior mirrors, basically to cut a long story short, the damn glass cost £330 (yeah tell me about it!) and new motor cost £45 and new housing cost £30, so one damn expensive mirror, on the other hand, my excess is £500 compulsory and £250 voluntary on that car, so damn.. either way big hit! got it from my bmw employee mate of mine who got them trade for me, and sorted fitting for a drink, but still all in cost me in excess of £250 for a damn mirror! and if i had just waited for the other bint to pass the small gap instead of charging through!

Wife ( headteacher ) leaving work 4.30pm in November - mugged by 2 masked men on the school car park/grounds - beaten up - brandished with knife & cut - forcefully took her new TT, found the next day after POLICE chase & crashed & written off . This cost to the Ins Co. £27K to replace - but they cant fix my wifes memory of the event Sad

Castration is too good for people like this. But remember if your wife hurt them whilst resisting the mugging she would be up on a charge. These scum are the victims according to our wonderful system they've had such a hard life that they need to mug and hurt innocent victims - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I hope your wife is better. As for the car it's only a lump of metal that can be easily replaced unlike loved ones! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Holy sh*t! It just goes to show that insurance is all well and good for replacing the material things in our lives but pales into insignificance when things like that happen. Hope your wife is on her way to a recovery already, Martin! Smile

Things like this never happened when I was a kid... at least not so often and in such apparently safe locations. What is the world coming to?
