United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Hybrid TV

Hi Guys,

Has any of you had this Hybrid tv added as an option since you have purchased your RRS? Or any of you with this option?

I have a 07 RRS TDV8 and wondering whether its worth getting it added!! Had it on a previous BMW 7 series, used to pick up Sky but wasn't best pic in built up areas...

Any info on whether its any good. worth adding, cost would be great

Have it fitted to mine, kids watch Ketnap and Canvas on the move, dont hear too many complaints from them. At home I get about 4 or 5 channels, if I go to the next village I get about 30 channels Shocked most of them are from Germany... WDR(Aachen) WDR (Koln) WDR(Dusseldorf) they all list as separate channels Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Well they are testing it... found a website with info on Belgian digital tv but can find no transmissions here in Limburg using my analog and digital DVR (has 2 inputs, one for analog and one for digital)
Most people here are on cable either Digital or Analog (we use the analog) and my internet / telephone is through the same cable. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

I have it fitted. Use it occasionally. Is it worth it Question ................suppose it depends on how much time you spend in your car away from home. For me that is quite often.
Picture is fairly good depending on where I've parked.

I don't know if it can be retro fitted or not Question TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Important to note that there isn't a LR retrofit for it... you'd have to go to a third party to have it done.

I had the normal analog TV module in my M3 and to be honest reception in that was bad much more than it was good.... I haven't seen a freeview module in a car yet, so not sure if there's any great difference. Remember that there are good and bad reception areas for digital too.

I don't believe Freeview in the UK carries HD broadcasts, although I don't think that's far off.... as for in Oz, I have no clue Wink The "in motion" option means you can view the output on the satnav screen whilst you're going along (which is normally disabled, once you start moving). As I said above, these would be non-LR solutions.

PS: Just checked and Freeview gets HD next year:

well i have the hybrid tv fitted in my tdv8 sport with the picture in motion and its brilliant !
very impressed , just sold the car and in process of buying another and not happy the one i
can get a deal on has not got a hybrid tv option. it is not possible to retro fit the lr system i am told.
i have also seen a non lr retro fit system, looks good with the same lr button coming up on the menu but reception is mediocre and no where as good as the lr system..
if anyone has had the lr system retro fitted i would be interested to know...

As you say Nick, I don't think LR will do it.
