The Italian Job

My Christmas has now officially been fulfilled. I watched the (original) Italian Job for the 1000th time and every time I watch it I love it. Probably the best film where the cars star ever made - unless you know better! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

the remake wasn't too bad either in my opinion, but you can't beat the original..

Agree it's an excellent film! The recent remake wasn't too bad either as a piece of entertainment, but lost the spirit of the original. Have you literally seen it 1000 times?

Kam - sorry but I really didn't like the re-make, it lost it's raw appeal and was too americanised. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Yes the mini's looked good but the focus of the film was taken away from the cars to some crappy plot. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

That chick, chalize theron wasn't it? she weren't bad..
can't even remember the plot to be honest, all i can remember was it was good for the entertainment at the time, but hardly a classic.. the old one was a true classic and i can always remember the lines old MP came out with and the plot.. brilliant..

This will make you jealous then....

When my wife was working in Turin in the summer of this year I went out a few times to see her, one weekend we went looking for Italian Job landmarks, and got to the old Fiat factory, where they filmed the scenes on the rooftop racetrack - called the Lingoto Track.

The factory has now been split up between a Le Meridien hotel and a shopping centre, but the huge spiral indoor road and track are all still there, and the hotel now only allows residents up on the track...however, with a little Engligh persuasion, we got to go to the roof and walk the track!

Here it is...
