Overfinch 500bhp conversion - minor issue!

Have ordered the 500bhp conversion from Overfinch - unfortunately a little issue....can anyone shed any light on whether this makes sense or not? Issue is that I am in the US and Overfinch cannot remotely interrogate the ECU.....

As you are aware we have been working on finalising the engine programme for 5 litre so that it can be fitted in the field by our distributors around the world. We believed that as with previous generations of the RR once the engineering aspect of the 5 litre build programme was finished we would be able to interogate the ECU and change the fueling/boost maps to allow for the additional horsepower and torque. What remains is a fundamental problem with remote downloading the new engine map when the ECU is out of the car - our electronics engineers cannot load the new map into the ECU without the ECU being in the car

There may also be another issue - I've had an unofficial (and unconfirmed) report that Overfinch may have gone into receivership in the UK Sad Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I've just checked Companies House and Overfinch went into administration on the 24th June 2005. A new company, Overfinch Bespoke Vehicles, was set up on the 28th June 2005.
I think I'd want to wait a little longer to make sure this new company wasn't going to go the same way as the old one before handing over any cash Confused

I would be intrigued (and amazed) if Overfinch can actually do anything with the new RR Sport SC ecu.

I suspect they are using some kind of piggy back device that has to be fitted into the vehicle after they have done their mechanical mods? Chips with everything

I expect they run at a substantial loss... it must cost them a fair bit to do what they do and it's not like they even deal with the whole LR range, just Rangeys. They're very well respected, but respect doesn't put food on the table. I wonder if they'll end up being a bit of a Concorde?
