Cheers for the advice, Insurance will cover it. They didnt even complain. However it becomes a fault claim on the record which will obviously affect all future polices for all the cars. Also the £1000 excess. Along with the extra time it would have taken for an assesor to come down and approve the repairs before they started meant cash was the better option. After all, im not disputing the fact its user error and things need to be replaced. Whats getting on my nerves is the lack of courtesy (car) considering i am less than a month later spending 5k with them.

My last post may have sounded a little harsh thinking back. Its not really the dealers fault. They have been helpful generally (im just nitpicking because i still have no car

), and thanks to james the buying experience was great. What it comes down to is land rovers fault. Fuel pump not arriving on time and them not offering me a courtesy car (ie just renting one for me) is making this mistake alot more costly than it should be.

im pretty sure its only on the FFRR. Which bugs me considering if you read the reasoning behind this in the land rover tdv8 press releases. They say they had to because the engine is so refined it doesnt feel like a diesel so people might put petrol in accidently. Apparently it must sound different in a sport because they dont put in the cut off

Silly why they can do it for one car but not another to me it is anyway well with this part it is! RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

If you found yourself in the situation of filling up your TDV8 why would you not know it was diesel? You'd either own the car, or at least know something about it.... or is this LR assuming that all it's customer are idiots?

You are right though... it does sound more like a petrol V8 in the RRS, less so in the FFRR (although still sounds good for a diesel).

Sorry but dose it not say What fuel it is in side of the fuel flap RRS TDV6 Gone but still around
