2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Just noticed that!

I just went out to check and the side on the photo's look like a chomed version of the standard plate however on the other side it is a dark plastic air intake... is this normal?

Is the left side vent a fake to match the real air intake on the right hand side??

Yeah I see that Thumbs Up

Must say though, there's not a wild amount of difference Smile

Still Jake you've a very nice Sport & please don't think I'm being s Censored ty by criticising you or your car. I'm just confused as to what "Kahn" had done to the vents over the colour coded LR ones.

BTW, I'd definitely follow up with them over your side indicators, as they do look totally stock !!!

Ther are so many conversion specialists out there - I think there is enough aftermarket stuff out there to do your own stuff - other than the seats of course. While we're here - there is only one thing that will get me into a new RRS again, and thats when they do a facelift the interior changes significantly - it's Censored poor....especially if you're coming out of a BM or Audi.....whilst visual exterior asthetics are very important - interior living space where we spend our time is just as important...

I’d have to agree with you there Nick Thumbs Up

I’ve long held the belief that Land Rover are way behind with their interiors. In particular the green dash lighting & monochrome displays, which to my mind is so very early 90’s Rolling Eyes

My ’08 RRS isn’t that far off, in terms of dash lighting, to what I have my ’95 300TDi Disco !!

When you look at the likes of Merc, Audi, BMW, they are just in an altogether different league to where LR are. When changing from my ’06 Sport, I had a look at (& very nearly bought) the Audi A6 Allroad. I have to say that the feel of build quality in the Audi was excellent & the on board computer / info system, with the central display, far exceeded anything that LR has to offer. When I was at the Audi dealer I also sat into the Q7 & like the A6 looked streets ahead of LR.

For me the final confirmation is with the Jag XF, which has come from pretty much the same stable as current Land Rovers & all you need do is look at the interior of that car. Why, oh why, haven’t LR incorporated some of that technology into their current models ?? That blue interior lighting that the XF has is just awesome Cool

Land Rover, to my mind at least, are without comparison in terms of heritage, toughness & off road capabilities, but they are seriously lacking in the “cool” factor, when compared to other luxury 4x4’s.

Like you Nick, I’m not at all sure that a LR will be my next vehicle & I’ve pretty much driven nothing else since 1993 !

Good point mate - very much agree. U used to think Audi were the bees on their interiors until my 6 series conv - and I loved being in there. I know a lot of the RRS owners here use their cars for what they were intended - I freely admit I got it because I like the image, the occassion of it all. And you are bang on - the LCD interior dials etc.....really old hat - but I always think that you know you have a car you love when you look back on it when you walk away - and this is the ONLY car I have had which looks good dirty and clean!! Jay knows that I very nearly chopped my RRS in this week for a CLS (was meant for my wife and I have a Maser GT) but I am holding on. Only point I'm not sure on with what you said, are Merc interiors, they aren't as logical it seems as Audi and BMW. I hate certain things though - like the R8 having Audi TT seats - really Censored me off that they scrimped on the seats. But hey what do I know, I'm a designer and like the visual and tactile feel of a car....I like to brush my hand along the paint work and feel how smooth it is after I clean it......the simple pleasures in life....

My next.....Bentley GT...but only if I can get used to only having it as a weekend car and driving a smart during the week........yup being serious! Thumbs Up

I too got the RRS because I like the image & not for off-roading, so I’m there with you that one.

Since I got the new one, in Java, I’m finding myself looking back at it when I park. The Bonatti I had before, not so much, but perhaps to a certain extent.

Well TBH I don’t have a huge knowledge of Mercs & their interiors. But of the ones I’ve seen, they seem to have a nice blue display for radio, Sat Nav & OBC. Along with a kinda phosphorous blue display for the dials Cool

The smart Four 2 cabrio is a great car, one of my mates had one, i could have had the worse day of the year at work and he'd pick me up from Leeds City centreand all was forgotten, people just smile/laugh at you i always had a big grin on my face, and they was fun to drive too.

When we needed a car to put the company logo on for a staff member i went out and bought a hard top one as they stand out in the crowd when sign written compared to something like a fiesta.

Still have in a garage at the office too, for some reason my boss (dad) won't sell it i think he want to keep it and tow it behind a RV which he always ponders on buying

You could have a sticker "My other cars a Bentley GT" too Rolling with laughter

Rolling with laughter yeah might just do that.

Like AM V8 but just wasn't sure about the Volvo/Ford look to the keys, sat nav etc....and prefer the Bentley (which I know is heavily laden with VW, but less obvious).

Don't get me wrong, not going for a new one....second hand one at about £80K....tempest silver....but this only when I get rid of the Maser GT...which might be soon - someone offered me £5K over what I paid....but thinking about it still.....

Nick - any chance you fancy coming up to LR Birthday bash do at gaydon tomorrow morning - there are 4 of us going....3 RRS and a SL....
