from day one mine has read incorrectly;

Just a LR and TDV8 badge mate 
I'm thinking just the black LR and the HST plate, lose the SPORT (maybe TDV8) also; will try out a few permutations |

I spoke to John earlier today, very helpful, the unit physically plugs in between the ECU and the injection system. It remains in place and can be removed for warranty work etc.
