Perhaps the " Auto Lights " swithch/position should be built in to the cars automatic operation........ie always waiting to come on themselves when car turned on? then if they havnt come on ( for some reason ) you can overide - by simply turning them on.

However, if we all drove about with headlights on , does your brain then blot this out and become more aware when you come accross a car with its headlights turned off

On this subject does anybody else feel the Auto option on the headlights comes on when its not dark enough? I have previously used side lights as a halfway house (not an option with the Auto swithch?) and then swich my headlights on as it got darker, or in poorer weather on the Motorway etc.

I have been flashed a few times by people who obviuosly feel they shouldnt be on when the RRS computer thinks they should be?

Well my car must be set up differently as I feel the auto lights don't come on early enough. I am always tempted to turn my lights on as soon as it starts to rain or get slightly foggy or misty which at this time of the year is almost all the time. Anyone who has looked out the window at Hampshire's weather this morning will know just what I mean.

Thinking about it though it is probably that I feel like I want my lights on all the time anyway hence the original question about DRL's. Proud owner of 2.7TD6 HSE Blue/Alpaca
