a little odd

I just took the side vents off my supercharged. And one of them seems like the supercharged side vent with the mettalic silver and the other seems like the hse side vent withe he matte grey. Is it supposed to be like this or did land rover screw up when they were building the car? Here is the pic sorry for the bad quality i took this with my phone.

Looks to me like you have one non-SC vent and one SC vent. That is odd. Time to pick up the phone!

how come you were removing the side vents? just out of curiosity or did u notice they weren't matching?

get dealer to sort it out, but i reckon will take them a while to get another one in for you.

have a spare set of non SC grills lying in my garage if you want one of mine to match the non SC vent, but can't imagine you would?? Past: Bmw M3 Coupe 57, 335d Coupe 56, Audi RS4 06, RR Sport TD HSE 05,

i took them out to see if i could get the outside part of the vents painted. Once i put them side by side I noticed they were not the same. I will just give my dealer a call and see what he says

I can only imagine this happened during production. On an SC the dealer would have no need to go fiddling with the vents. This is no surprise - on mine, they put the rear grab handles (with the coat hooks) in the front and vice versa. All very clever! Wink

Heres a more likely scenario...

Someone with an HSE probably wanted to steal yours hoping you wouldn't notice the difference, at some shopping mall or parking structure, and pulled a switch on you, but was not successful in removing the other side because of timing, being rushed, or being witnessed by someone...

I don't think the factory would do something like that because of the sourcing of the parts... but who knows... Or it could have been someone from the dealer..

On a side note, you CAN paint the sorrounds... The blades/mesh portion of the grill separates from the gray sorrounding frame, allowing you to ge a clean paintjob of just hte gray area, but leaving the silver finish portion intact.... Beautiful effect, which is what I did with mine... Ill post pics after work sometime so you can see the differences...

Yeah thats exactly what I wanted to do, somewhat like the ones on the overfinch site. It would be nice to see some real pictures though. Thanks
