Rear Diff Lock?

I've just been looking at the LRNA website where you can now build your own Sport. I see that a rear difflock is on the options list for $500............... haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in UK brochures or on the UK LR Website.
Where do American go that is anywhere different to the places we take ours?http://www.landroverusa.com/us/en/_maintoo...0Rover.htm

Thanks , must be need ing reading glasses to go with the distance specs!

Any idea why it would desirable when there are so many other electronic traction aids? My Defender has a locking centre diff but no electronic traction aids and the difference the looking centre diff makes is really useful............ but with Traction control and HDC I wonder if it is necessary?

Also look at the price difference between it specified on a USA Sport $500 (£277 at todays exchange rate!) and on a UK spec car - £495! Rip off Britian is still fine and healthy!

Based on my experience with Disco 3 it is a worthwhile option IF you are doing serious offroading - but it only activates in about 1% of time - whereas the main (central diff gets used perhaps 20% of time offroad). Lot of cash if you are not offroading - but if you need it it makes that final difference! Very Happy
