Have been reading Land Rover Enthusiast mag today about the TDv8 engines in the FF and RRS - they are not quite the same engine......................... FF has no anti-roll oil pump, one driveshaft passes through the sump, on the RRS there is and also the alternator is differently located.The Sump on the RRS has caused problems as it wouldn't fit round the front diff too, the Turbos have had to be relocated to a different position because of the different shape of the Sports engine bay. Also the Sport version has a different exhaust system to make it sound more "raspy". 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

4.2 S/C engine is also a bit diffirent.. and rrs gets 390bhp while ffrr gets 398bhp.

Engine maps in RRS and RR are exactly the same....pure marketing exercise by LR to separate the 2 models

Hello,

I have all the original LR engine maps and there are no differences between the 2 models.

It may be possible that one models exhaust is less restrictive and therefore power is slightly higher.

I've only had 2 RR TDV8's on a dyno and we were able to produce an extra 70bhp and 140Nm torque :-0)

Whow! That's 338 bhp and 790 Nm then if you produced LR's published figures on the dyno before 'chipping'. I for one will be seriously interested - that is once mine finally does arrive - still months away.
