i believe this government is very much in favour of road safety. this is obvious by the number of speed cameras dotted around the country. however, is this really a 'safety' issue or a way of extracting more money from the motorist.
if the government really wants to reduce accidents (at no cost to itself), why not require all cyclists and motor-cyclists to wear flourescent jackets at all times when using their vehicles?
what are your thoughts on this?

We are required to wear yellow Hi Viz on sites. They can be a pain unless you buy 1 of each, by that I mean bomber jacket, coat, vest, mesh vest.
In that order I swap as the seasons progress from now.
Orange vests are 'Banksmen' or 'Rail workers', no one else should wear on on site so the crane drivers only take signals from one guy.
The reason so many are at side of road is 'pickup man' they put the vests in the loadbed along with some tools on top but don't realise the very high wind suction on the back. This flaps them about and eventually lift them out into the windstream. Been there, done that, make my men put them in cab rather than keep buying replacements Rob Lane
