Had been looking into the Eclipse unit at the weekend after seeing it advertised in Sydney Motor Show newspaper insert. If you are interested I found a forum saying http://www.glprosound.com.au/ in Dandenong were $3500 fitted.

If you are looking at something like this Driller has been looking at a couple of options too.

Love the idea of the Eclipse unit but hearing you about the price (wifee keeps muttering something about me moving into the Sport Rolling Eyes )

why are these units so much installed? Over here in the US that unit runs slightly above $2100USD and I cant imagine that it would cost that much to install. How much is just the unit out there? Maybe its cheaper to send it out there.

yep, that's it.....not like back in the good old days when the AUD was actually 1.10 against the greenback Crying or Very sad

Other issue with buying any Sat Nav products outside your country......you get pinged big time for the country map software. For the Navman, just the map card and disk was about $400!! Kind of kills of any duty free benefit you may have got on a $800 unit Evil or Very Mad RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

Im sure its against copyright laws but has anyone tried to burn a backup of their nav cd and put it in their dvd player? I think it would have to be on a dual layer disc.
