Temperature Error

My partner dropped me at work this morning, she has just rung me to say that the computer has just pronounced a temperature error and was shutting down. The car lost all sat nav guidance and all stereo and information functions. Rolling Eyes
I told her if it stayed that way to call land rover assist and while we were talking on the phone it all came back on. Rolling Eyes Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver

Over the last couple of weeks (since the cold weather), I've had a few occasions when, after travelling 300 yards, I get all the bongs and lights and 'engine management failure', 'transmission failure' 'hdc' failure... the 'kin lot!

Stop the car, switch off...re-start and its ok. I always allow the computer to complete its checks before fully turning the key so don't know why its suddenly started doing this.

And its VERY intermittent so no bloody point telling the dealer!

Anybody else had this?

That issue is straight out of the Disco 3 list of things that go wrong. Its always a cold winter's morning on first starting the vehicle and traveling about 150 yards. The electrical systems all fail in a cascade effect (including limp home mode - so be careful if you live 150 yards from a busy junction Embarassed ). A simple stop and restart sorts it out. The issue seems to be low voltage from a cold battery, compounded by having lots of electrical accessories (heated screens, heated seats, wipers, fans, lights etc) all on at start up. Its a Censored - but it goes away as soon as your battery is in tip top condition or the temperature rises above 3 degrees C.

Smarticus,

Thanks for the info mate...spot on, its when I have the heated seats on, screens, lights,etc...and only when very cold.

Is there a dealer software fix that you know of?
