New posts not showing up as unread

I logged in tonight after 5 days away from the forums and at first I saw aheap of coloured RRS's in the home page that signifies new postings in each fourm. I didn't log out but went to check my email and when I came back to the home page by minimising my email (hotmail) page all the RRS's have gone to grey Crying or Very sad so I don't know where all the new postings are! I haven't clicked on the mark all subjects read button and as I said I didn't log out. I have since turned off my laptop and come back onto the forums, posted a message and the system is still showing there are no new posts even though I haven't read anything yet! Help, I'm traolling through all the posting to see what I have missed in 5 days!

Well. I've got some Red RRS's on the home page this morning and Blue ones on the various forums............. I wonder if it has something to do with the "refreshing " of the screen.
Which browser do you use MD? I have Mozilla Firefox as my primary system. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

This happens to me too (on IE6). A trifle annoying Confused The site only seems to remember which posts are new for you once. If you don't view everything that's new within one session and you go back to finish off later, it forgets and you potentially lose your "new posts" page.

Hi guys

Unfortunately it's a very common bug with phpBB, which they don't seem to want to fix in a hurry. DISCO3.CO.UK has exactly the same problem:

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1187

If you follow the cookie removal tips here:

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1790

but obviously replacing rrsport.co.uk for disco3.co.uk it should help bring them back to life properly until the next time...

Sorry it's a faff, I have looked for an update but there simply isn't one Shocked Sad Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I think I might have found out why this is happening:
If I get a message in my email to say there is a new PM waiting for me on the forum I use the link through from the email to the site, it then marks all the forums as read for some reason.
If I exit my email and go into the site from Mozilla or Internet Explorer and then click on the New Private Mails button at the bottom of the page, all the new postings stay marked as unread...................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
