3.6 Tdv8 oil in hose

Replaced 4 intercooler hoses yesterday and noticed a small amount of oil in the driver side hose and the passenger was completely dry.

Having had highly modified turbo petrols before I know there will always be a small amount of oil in intercooler hoses.

Is there some kind of witch craft going on to have one side dry and one side slightly oily?

The PCV vent dumps in to the driver's side turbo intake so a bit of oil on that side wouldn't be unexpected. The PCV has an oil separator but it won't be 100% effective. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
