Not so much in Europe. Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

All,

Don't get me wrong - I thing this idea is barking however..... we already have both speed limiters and Event Data Recorders on our cars (well my 19MY car has)!

You can already set a speed limit - and over-ride it with a hard right foot - I use it regularly on sites I visit that "ban" speeders from site on safety grounds. (20mph limits due to pedestrians all over the place)

The EDR is in the Owners Manual in the "After a collision" section. It can be downloaded by Land Rover and some "suitably equipped authorities".

I suggest RTFM !!!

So what would happen if you hung a fake "100mph" sign over a real speed sign post?

Or put a "20mph" one on a Motorway slip road? MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

It will all be easily overridden by the switch fitted to the system. You'll be able to turn it off - a bit like auto-stop/start, I guess - according to the articles I've seen.

No doubt anyone driving with it all switched off and who is then in an accident may find their insurer taking an interest in why, of course. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
