Turbo Actuator - can this be bought separately?

I have a faulty actuator on a working turbo - can an actuator be sourced separately (TDV8 - right hand side actuator needed)

Hi Its the actuator itself (i.e. the electronic motor) rather than the rod assembly, but thanks

Item 5 doesn't appear to be avaliable separately from L/R, unless you could get one from a aftermarket supplier.

I have just had the actuator done on a working turbo by a JLR dealer. The invoice quoted the work as about 4 and a half hours (from memory) and for the part which totalled about 1,600 euros. So it would appear possible to be obtained separately and fitted. Good luck Thumbs Up Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Just had my turbo replaced by JLR under extended warranty. Issue wasn't the turbo but the actuator electronics box - Oil had migrated down the wire in the harness from the oil level sensor that happens to go to turboA actuator module.
JLR do not sell the actuator separately I was told, so they replaced the whole assembly (£1654+vat), and put a new bypass harness in place to prevent the oil path from the sump level sensor getting into the electronics module again. So its a known problem and may effect certain VIN nos. Turbo B does not suffer from the same problem.
This oil migration down the core of the wire is similar to TD5 injector harness issue where oil migrated over time to the ECU causing faults. (Disco 2 and Defenders with TD5 engines - new injector harness required)
As the above post states the actuators are available as aftermarket items but I would check that the new bypass harness is fitted if was Turbo A you had the problem with.
