Door puddle lights not working

Hi.

I've just purchased a RRS 2010 V6, I've replaced all the internal bulbs to LED and now the front door puddle lights are not working. The bulbs are working fine. I've searched the web and I've noticed that this is a pretty common problem after replacing all internal bulds but I've found no solution to any of the issues.

Can someone help please.

Thanks

Darryl

have you tried flipping the bulb

I am pretty sure it matters on them bulbs the correct + & - orientation.

Also when i did mine i managed to blow the fuse once , so might wanna check that also :p

Hi Mr Luke.

Thank you for the comment.
I've double checked the bulbs an removed the whole unit and installed the unit in the book and they both work fine.

Concerning the fuse when you had the issue, is there a separate fuse for the front door puddle bulbs or are they on the same fuse as something else. All other internal lights are working as they should.

Many thanks

Regards

Darryl

Are we talking about the mirror puddle lamps or the bottom of the door? 2012 5.0 SC AB

Ok, are they replacement bulbs or projectors with a logo? If projectors they don’t last long. I bought expensive ones and they lasted 6 months. Got my money back and still have them to repair at some time. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Have you tried them else where?

Oh, and I found that they can take a while to work sometimes. They also only work when you exit the vehicle not on entry. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Hi,

Bulbs and holding units are working fine, have removed them from the front doors and tried in the back doors and they work fine. Working bulbs and units moved from the back doors and replaced in the front and again they dont work.

The door lights should come on with all the other interior lights when the doors are opened.

I've noticed that this is a known problem from other forums but nobody has posted any fix to the problem.

Trying to find out if it is a fuse issue but cant find out the fuse number or other electronics using the same fuse.

Agh, not quite. My mirror lamps come on when I unlock the car and the front door ones don’t. If I start the car, turn it off and open the door, the bottom door lamps come on and not the mirror lamps. Have you got an IID tool? You may need to check and clear faults as mine record faults as untethered and then dump them after a few starts and it all works again. 2012 5.0 SC AB

I suspect you have to leave a bulb in one location and hopefully the otherwise may work?

Do you have mirror welcome lights?

Hi Thanks, I've not got a tool but I'll see if I can get hold of one. Thank you for your time.

Hi Andy. bulbs have been in place since I finished fault finding for over a week but still no luck with the front door lights.
I know the bulbs are ok and polarity is correct, bulb holders are also ok. The only thing left I think is possibly the fuse.

Could try fuse 57 behind glove box, but I would have thought if some are working it will not be the fuse.

Cheers

Here is a screen shot of the 2 fault codes I got when my front door lights failed. They are tethered so I had to clear them with the IID tool
