2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

The map updates for the current system come on a regular basis, I have updated 3 or 4 times this year so far.

The great thing is if you know of a missing road, roundabout etc you can log it on the HERE Creator site.
We have a mini-roundabout that has been there at least 10 years and not shown. I reported it earlier this year and it was on the next update!! 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Hope nobody minds if I piggy back onto this thread.

I have a MY18 and got a message on my satnav regarding new maps available. Downloading onto a USB stick was pretty straight forward but can somebody tell me how long it takes to transfer the update from UBS to the car's satnav system?

Thanks
Jas

No, it is fairly quick. Around 25 minutes?

Tim, jimbg, Just tried and it took exactly 20 minutes! Thumbs Up

I just did a map update on other half's Disco 5, the process is frustrating as the app that downloads the file to the USB stick will only allow you to transfer to one that's formatted in FAT32, Windows 10 doesn't natively allow this - only exFAT as previously mentioned but the download app won't permit that. I ended up using this tool;

https://download.cnet.com/HP-USB-Disk-Stor...74082.html

that formats to FAT32 on Win 10, the 28GB download can then happen Rolling Eyes

Not sure what you are doing but I use Windows 10 and have no problems at all.

I do a quick format of a 32Gb USB stick using the default FAT32, run the downloader and all works OK.

I have done this at least half a dozen times with no issues. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I don't have the FAT32 option when I right click > Format;

Maybe because it is 64Gb, there is probably an addressing issue for FAT32 at that size?

I use a 32GB which is all you need. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Maybe, I don't have a smaller one to try. Are you using Home edition? maybe not available in my Pro edition?

mannchris, jimbg,

I downloaded the map updates on a Windows 10 laptop and onto a 64 MB usb stick. Download onto the USB stick too about 30 mins and was problem free.

Jas, did you format the stick, perhaps it was already formatted to FAT32?

Absolutely no idea. I think jimbg suggested a 64gb stick. I didn't have one to hand and bought a Toshiba 64gb stick from Amazon, stuck it in and the map downloaded without any probs and uploaded into my car's satnav in 20 mins.

Yes, Home Edition but I do not think that makes a difference.

Thanks for this - very useful for updating a 5m section of missing road at the bottom of my street (a very useful 5m, as it connects it to the main road). RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

It offers it to you when you do the download. Did mine through an iMac with no issues
