Service notification on app but not in car

Hello, new owner here with a MY 17 AB bought from a franchised dealer last Nov. Epic car, recently did a 2500 mile trip through Europe in it which although revealed a few gremlins was possibly the most comfortable journey I've ever undertaken. Anyway, had a notification pop up on the app saying it needs a service but nothing in the car. Oil is good for another 11k and DEF is next up at 7.5k (I just had it done so knew it wouldn't be that) so slightly puzzled as to what it could be. Anyone else had similar?

Welcome to the forums,
Sounds like it could be one of two things - the well known oil dilution issue or they forgot to reset the service indicator 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Cheers, no idea what oil dilution is though. What's that all about?

If you look through recent posts in this section about “oil dilution and it’s he way we drive the car” or similar you will find pages of posts about what happens to all diesels with auto stop/start and a DFP this thread reveals all http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic52879.html

The dash incidcation is the important one - if fuel is being dragged into the lubrication system then it dilutes the engine oil....... not good for your car to run on diluted engine oil 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks. Bit odd as I've just smashed the car through Europe at steady state speeds (including Autobahns) and back again so DPF should be fine. Don't do short trips at home as I work overseas although my wife occasionally uses it to go to work if she can't be arsed to take the mini. That trip is 15 miles down the M4. Thing is I have no dash indication, just on the app and car menu says next due for oil in 11,050 miles. I'm back in the UK on Friday for a week and the car is booked in for the 6th. Bit perplexed really.

Mine usually does this. As said above, take the Dash as the priority.

Frustratingly, the 2 should always be in sync as the app 'supposedly' talks to the car at various intervals. SVR with a few bits from Urban and Glohh

Cheers, can't say I'm overly worried it just messes with my motoring OCD. I'll see what they say on the 6th.

Just by way of an update, I rang the dealer last week and she said unless there was something actually in the car then ignore the app. Noticed today that the app has cleared itself so just a glitch by the looks of things. Car's still going as the blind spot monitor is having a fit every now and then.
