Scotland 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

37mpg in a 2012 sdv6 ? What was your average speed, out of interest ? I saw around 34 once but that was on a very long stretch of average speed camera controlled A9, sitting pretty much bang on 60mph for mile after mile.

I regularly used to see in excess of 40mpg on the TC innmy 2015.5, but brim to brim in Fuelly and it would drop to 34/38, usually higher going south and down hill after the Lakes and lower coming north unless there was a howling gale pushing me along! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim, fair play but your 2015 is about half a ton lighter than the 2012 version I have. I am struggling to see how on a 500 mile journey mid 30s mpg is deliverable in a 2012 unless constant 55 to 60 mph no stops.

From my experience with a 2005 launch L320 TDv6SE it isn’t possible! Up to D3/RRS all my Land Rovers used to give very close to the official Govt consumption figure but after that the real life and official got further and further apart and the Trip Computer figures progressively got more and more optimistic! With the last car I was always amazed how fuel consumption varied on the same 16 mile each way trip from home to Stirling, on a day when going to town I was stuck most of the way behind tractors towing beastly trailers to the Mart in Stirling I could get as high as 47mpg sat ar 35-40 with no prophets of safely overtaking, but then on the way home sat at 60 on the cruise control it would fall to 31-32...........
I rake the point about the weight difference, it has quite an effect. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

Had my 2008 TDV8 since March 2016 and have done 37000 miles. Overall average is 25.3mpg. Had a few long runs over that time; Sussex to North Wales gets me 29.4mpg, Sussex to North of Aberdeen gets 29.1mpg. Those trips tend to be at or about 70mph on the motorways.

My route to Scotland is A1 with a stop at Aysgarth Falls in Yorkshire Dales then across to pick up the M6

I'm with you Mani that for a 10 year old heavy 4x4 that's pretty good and, as I've mentioned before, we didn't buy these cars to save money on fuel. Most times its nice to just potter about but occasionally its good to be a bit of a hooligan Very Happy Robin

Much of the roads south of London are 50 speed controlled,
as was some of the way home, I guess it was around 68-70 average..
maybe a little less..

most on cruise control, just enjoying the scenery and the ride..

That was what the car told me anyway, so I am unsure how accurate it is?

One stop on the way from the lakes to home..
one stop over night at the lakes,, ===========================================
