Advice needed car bumped - Caught on CCTV

Apart from the obvious damage what should I be getting them to check?

Car not often used during the week but both of us were home one day this week and Missus needed to use the car - Well the Big boot Smile

She came running back inside to say there are pieces of the RRS on the floor - Anyway went out and inspected , played back CCTV and caught this fool on camera - Anyway long story short its all in hand and the car is going in.

- The car was stationary , in park and got shunted about 6 Inches forward - Car drives fine but was a bit notchy getting out park after the Ahem BUMP.

To me it looked like quite a shunt and the RRS is visually ok and I have calmed down a bit

You are parked on the wrong side of the road - isn't that an offence too Smile

If you had not been parked illegally your car would not have been hit. 07MY RRS TDV6

Not illegal in the UK, took me a while to get used to that as illegal here as well, mind you not many off them here know which side of the road to drive on either. Laughing

Cheers

That's quite a shunt from the silver car if they were themselves looking to park up. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

They should consider themselves lucky your towbar isn't fitted: that 'bump' would have written-off their car.

Insurance claim?

Unless your car is parked nearside to kerb, not less than 10 m from a junction, in a 30mph limit, position lamps need to be displayed during the hours of darkness. So perfectly legal during the day.

Parked legally Very Happy

Towbar is in boot more's the pity and Believe it or not he was parking up - He drove up the road and pulled straight into the parking space.

He had the cheek to tell me it was it hardly anything until I pointed out I have CCTV and that how did he know that as he didn't even bother looking at the damage on my car. Soon changed his tune.

Back to the question - Any hidden concerns I should worry about ? What about Gearbox been shunted in Park?

Actually it might be a good job that the tow hitch wasn’t fitted! Being hit hard on the tow hitch can lead to lots of hidden chassis buckling that could have also meant your car would be written off.........

Our RRS has just been written off from local council bin wagon hitting ours! Thankfully our CCTV saved the day too! We had only had CCTV fitted 5 weeks before! Our damage was much worse though, bin wagon lifted our RRS up and push uphill. Not showing on here though as we have a bit of a battle over our losses that we seem to have taken a hard hit on! Big Cry

It’s worth checking the small brackets inside your wheel arches which hold the bumper in alignment. We had a similar ‘minor’ bump at the back of our RRS1 a few years ago and one of the brackets had snapped so the bumper was not quite aligned correctly at the back of the wheel arch. Current: 2020 P400e HSE Dynamic

Against the law in Oz, but not the Uk unless night time. This follows commons sense as cars have reflectors at the rear by law (you can see the with your actual eyes during the day). Whilst it IS illegal in the uk, it is almost never prosecuted Thumbs Up Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

I hope that's antipodean humour? Smile as the the tool would have hit it still even if it was on a car transporter( Parked either way )

When the dust settles and the car's fixed I will post the full feature - Trust no-one - Trust CCTV Rolling with laughter
