Key fob case replacement

Has anyone done this recently? Is it straightforward enough? I’m worried about totally breaking the old one’s electronics as I take it apart.

Just thought I’d ask before I gave it a go. I’ll let you know how I got on...

I bought mine from ebay and swapped the electronics over. If you have dodgy buttons then its worth sending it off. 2016 Black SDV8 Autobiography
2013 Grey Black Edition SDV6 (lasted a while but gone now)
2005 Grey Supercharged Sport (gone but never forgotten)

The case change went well. I looked at a guy on YouTube taking the fob apart; I made sure I didn’t break the silicon seal and changed the battery too. The only question is why didn’t I complete this much sooner? I changed the battery in the other unit as well. Both now working well.
