Range Rover Sport 2005 SAT NAV Loss of GPS

I am new here and stumbled across this forum while trolling the net for a problem I have with my 2005 RRS, I apologize if this subject has been covered before !!

A red line appeared through the word "GPS" on the top left of the screen, the Sat Nav still works unless I drive on a road that doesn't exist on the Sat Nav or sometimes if the vechicle has not moved for a couple of days, then it loses itself and I end up in the middle of the North Sea. I can manually reset the position and it works again for a while. So it is somehow managing to follow the route but is not picking up a GPS signal.

Does the CD need updating? if so where is the best place to get it done?

Has anyone else had a similar problem and how did you fix it?

With most of this 2005 money pit getting renewed slowly I have another problem with the front and rear parking sensors but thats the next one to tackle after the GPS.

Cheers GG

Common fault, highly likely the GPS antenna in the sharks fin has failed.

Easy cheap fix works very well. It cost me less than £10 12 months ago and still working perfectly.
