I think we are singing from the same hymn sheet, but my point is not in the MOT failure but when you end up in a big smash and the loss adjuster is looking for any reason not to pay out and finds the cat or the DPF is not there. I agree he is unlikely to start taking the engine apart looking for EGR, but the world knows that a lot of EGRs are blanked off.

I lost a car, written off in a flood, and it was towed away to a local (friend’s) garage and then inspected for the claim by the loss adjuster. My mate told me the first thing he looked at were the tyres and tread. The car was stationary when it was inundated!!!

I have always held the opinion that you are insured for everything except a claim.

Would that inspector not be checking that the car was being maintained in a roadworthy condition and road legal with the correct type of tyres on each hub and more than the minimum legal tread depth. That gives a pretty fair idea of how the car was maintained before the unfortunate incident. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Absolutely, exactly my point and if the tyres had been bald I would not have received any money, notwithstanding that bald tyre would have had nothing do do with the car being drowned.

So after a no fault write-off they notice the Cat has gone - the car is not road legal, and has notbbeen maintained to a road legal standard. No pay out.

I recently had my tdv8 remapped, they said that they couldn't map the o2 sensors out as the engine management always needs them?

Can anyone help out as to why they can't be mapped out? Or was the company I went for telling porkies?

They managed to map out the egrs and I've blanked them off, which has been perfect so far.

Back to this, I'm still on the hunt for a pair of Decat pipes for my sport tdv8 and yet I've hit a brick wall.

There are plenty of tdv6 Decat pipes for sale, but no tdv8.

Can anyone help?

I have interest , but I have concerns about noise , smells , error codes , etc ...my car is modified with a x-pipe and without rear ones , is louder when hard throttle is applied but quieter in normal driving. I have one sensor in each cat ( EGT sensors ?) TdV8 mapped and egr deleted , 265/60 r18 on Compomotive rims , Navarricos underbody protection , custom rocksliders , Devon44 hidden winch 9500i , IIDTool

Mikey do we need a group buy for this?

Do you know off the top of your head how much we could get maybe 5 sets made up?

I assume at least 5 people would be interested?
