Power fold mirrors

One of my mirrors is playing up
It’s struggling to power fold it’s creaking and juddering
Can they be lubricated if yes what with

May not be relevant after all this time, but there was a TSB/Service Action about juddering mirrors I think it involved fitting a extra washer or something like that can't really remember exactly, will see if I can find a copy, may help.

i had this problem about 12 months ago on mine and and used WD 40. put the thin nozzle in the swivel area gave it a good blast and cleaned off the excess and its worked perfectly ever since. Thumbs Up

WD40 is not a lubricant it is a WATER DISPERSANT, hence its name WD. It will work for a while but over time it will gum up the works by attracting cr@p to stick to it. Use a spray silicon grease or at least a spray grease.

That said if they are sticking or juddering when moving then, standing alongside the door facing forward grab the mirror body and push towards the front. The mirror will move and go almost flush with the car. This distributes the lubricant and is an accepted procedure for this problem.

I took my mirror apart and lubricated everything with white grease . Did not really solve the problem , i think i need a new motor ... Sad

Thanks for the info I sprayed the all the moving parts on mirror with silicone spray and all working ok 👍
