81 litres?

Due to unforseen circumstance (a filling station being shut) I ran the fuel tank much lower than I normally would and it took 81 litres to fill it. Is this a record?

(My wife has absolute faith in the 'distance to empty' figure!)

My experience is I think 82 ltr was the biggest fill. Distance to empty hasn't let me down, been down to 3 or 4 miles indicated a couple of times with no drama. Probably zero still leaves a litre or two to protect the vehicle but I don't want to tempt fate trying to find out !

Closest ive been to empty is engine coughing for 1/2 mile followed by engine stoping on a roundabout and coasting up to the petrol point (Ford Mondeo). When I eventually got it restarted the dash was a Christmas tree but a stop start fixed that. Closest in the Sport is Zero as I was going for fuel with no issues at all....except to my bank balance. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Well, it all depends how do you fill up, when do you stop. '08 RRS TDV8

I think the official capacity of 84 litres doesn't include the filler/neck of the tank.

Oman 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

I seem to remember seeing the tank, on a SC at least, is 88l (www.rangerovers.net). I regularly fill over 80l due to the abundance of petrol stations here.

However, that didn't stop my other half running her Kia dry Rolling Eyes ... but fortunately there were some very helpful Royal Oman Police officers in a following car that pushed her to the petrol station (200m) in 40C heat Shocked 2006 RRS S/C CONSTANTLY under modification...
