Damp passenger footwell

My RRS has developed a very dank and musty smell in the cabin. A bit of investigation reveals a rather damp passenger footwell. There hasn't been any rain, the car hasn't been washed for over a month and no leakey dogs or children have been in it. Any ideas ? RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Smarticus, I would suggest that an aircon drain is blocked/ nipped behind the dash. It's quite common on all makes of car 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You might find it in the owners manual, but I think that with your car being so new a trip to the dealer for the dash board dismantling might be in order...................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Usually the actual pipe blocked is outside the car. On air-con cars there is a condensate drain tube that comes out often down the side of the transmission at the rear of the engine. This is what produces the pool of water under the car on warm days. This gets blocked by dirt (have you been off-roading recently?) and the water builds up in the bottom of the air-con and then eventually comes out through the footwell vent in the passenger side. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Smarticus:

Previous posts have suggested that an aircon condensation pipe, located at the top of the passenger footwell, falls off its connector and hangs loose. Have a look under there to see if there is a loose pipe hanging down. If so, look for the corresponding connector and just push the pipe back on. Apparently it's happened to others. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Smarticus, PM me your e-mail address, I have a TSB that may help you identifying the source of this leak.
