Bike rack advice/recommendations

Wanted to get a bike rack for the back of our 2011 RRS, to hold 4 bikes, (2 adults, 2 kids) just after something cheap to do the job. Is there anything that you would recommend or have tried?

Thanks in advance

John

Do you have a tow bar? Steve.

Just checked in the boot compartment where my jack is, and it looks like I don’t have a tow bar 🙁
Are these extras on the HSE?

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Yes, but if you bought the car used then often previous owners keep them to sell on a well known auction website. Look at your rear bumper and if there is a removable Centre section then behind it you might find the slot for the detachable tow hook and maybe even some lighting/power sockets. Use a 10p or 2p coin to undo the clips that hold the cover plate onto the rear bumper. Sometimes on older cars you can see the red plastic filler that stops dirt clogging up the locking mechanism but they can fall out. The owner’s manual will also show you what to look for. Be aware that there has been a recall on the tow hooks in the last year so you may need to get the car looked at at an LR dealership - should be free to make the mod. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I don`t think you`ll get anything "cheap" for 4 bikes. All depends what you mean by cheap. Most 4 bike ones start around £100 ish. You`re gonna want a decent one as 4 bikes are a fair weight.

I asked if you had a towbar as that would probably be the strongest point for one. Steve.
