Hi All

recently purchased RRS 2.7TDV6 on 2005 plate which I am very happy with. I do have a issue with the key fobs, The fob has failed twice on me so far where the car just will not unlock on both fobs. However the car locks and tailgate works on the same fobs every time, its just unlock that seems to give me grief.

I have been out this morning and both fobs are working fine again, but I know they will play up soon enough. Is there a known issue with the fobs not unlocking ? I think its strange that both suffer with unlock issues but are fine on lock and tailgate.

Any advise please

Hi and welcome there is a chap on here that does a refurb on the fobs which i believe will get rid of most issues also there is a problem that may be yours which is a 3 wire splice in the loom you can search for both of them on here and have a look to see which one suits you best

Many thanks for your reply, I have looked at some posts in regards to the loom splice however I thought that fix was for when the CL stop working all together, mine still works fine locking and tail its just unlock is intermittent so not sure that would cure it.

I have noticed that when I tap the fob when it plays up it seems to unlock again. What is the upgrade for the fob and where can I get on or more info please ?

Just search on here for key fob service I think it’s RRUK that does it
