Difference in value, Between FSH & No SH

Hi guys, some 4 months ago I purchased a 58 plate RRS 3.6 TDV8 HST in Alaska white, with 3 previous owners and 88k on the clock and came with all the usual extras including rear seat entertainment screens ect. I paid 14k
(It is a beautiful car to look at, and gets alot of complements)And i was told it comes with a FSH and he would get it serviced before i picked it up(he didnt).well 4 months on and many excuses later I'm still waiting for the FSH, how much roughly should I of paid for the above car without any history? Updated sat nav

Really depends on lots of different factors - Colour - white isnt always the best or most sought after so tends to be cheaper. Level of equipment; most come fully loaded but there are lots of add-ins.

FSH if that’s what the advert says, then thats what it should have, and what you should get.

Did you buy private or from a dealer? Ther are offences under Trade Description Act for both, but you are more likely to ge5 a result from a dealer than from a private seller.

£14k does sound a bit on the expensive side, even with the mileage but others may disagree.

I would be worried about the actual mileage and work done, if the service history fails to materialise. Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5
Disco 3 HSE TDV6 2007
Gone 2007 TDV8 RRS1 in Buckingham Blue.

How do know if the knocking at the front has been sorted?

You can hear the knocking at the rear better

I would be wondering about the Turbos. If it’s not had the correctly timed oil changes then no one knows how long the Turbos will last and that’s one expensive job. Do you think it was even serviced when you purchased it? Did you get the service books with it? I would expect to see at least 7 stamps based on mileage and 10 if you go on age! 2012 5.0 SC AB

Hi mate, after all the lies I had been fed by this guy, I couldn't be sure if he did have it serviced prior to me buying it so I booked it in myself and it hadn't been done, cost me around £400 with new fuel filter. I didn't recive anything no service books, stamps ect as he stated the bloke he got it of was on holiday and I would recive these upon his return
I also had an issue with the suspension when I picked it up so it had to go back to him so 'his mate' could sort it out, it's since had new height sensors fitted and 2 air suspension compressors fitted (paid by him) at a Land rover specialist in preston.also I had to push for the warranty he promised which I got 2 months after purchase (12 months). I take it you have the V5, does it show the previous keeper? Perhaps try to contact him/her and ask about the service history. It may reassure you, or give you ammunition for a claim against the dealer who sold it you if he mas misrepresented the car.

Hi and thanks for your reply, when I got the car in early may I eventually got the v5 of the dealer about 3 weeks later and it had previous keeper details on.
I was and still am being told they are trying to contact previous keeper for the documents but no luck so far. I've since been told he was selling the RRS in his showroom for a friend of a friend, I just don't know where I stand and it's really stressing me out. Plus I've spent close to 1k on it for service, rear tv screens, and general upgrades. Updated sat nav

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

There were 3 types of HST, genuine factory builds (quite rare), dealer built from a factory supplied kit (not so rare but not that common) and home made from a body kit purchased from eBay or and LR dealer, basically a stick on set of aero bits. The factory built cars all came with the e-diff as standard but most home built and dealer cars didn’t get that bit. Also the colour doesn’t look very Alaska White it looks more Chawton White. Alaska was introduced in 2008MY cars but yours looks quite a creamy white in the photo. Are you sure it hasn’t been resprayed and mis-named? The paint shade and code is shown on the bonnet slam VIN plate so it is easy to find out. IIRC factory built HST’s were also listed on the V5 as an HST whereas the dealer and homemade ones were just a TDv8 HSE. I’m not sure but the factory builds may also have had a glass powered sunroof as standard too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Hi yes I have the V5 now which does not show the previous keeper, but the V5 I got of the dealer to send off did have his details on and I took a photo of it (good job I did really) I've also sent letters out to him with no response. I'm beginning to think it never had any history in the first place and I've paid top dollar for it. Updated sat nav

Hi mate, it's definitely a factory build HST also states this on the V5 log book, and also says Alaska white (photo doesn't do it justice) and was first registered in Sep 2008. Where do I find the e-diff? I'm useless when it comes to engines ect , I'm just going out to check the VIN plate I'm quorious now lol. Cheers tim Updated sat nav

If you have proof of it supposedly had full service history or not have a word with trading standards a quick phone call to them i would have thought they have breached a few codes of the goods for sale act Thumbs Up

Hi Tim I've just checked the VIN it is Alaska white, also you are right it does have a powered tilt and slide sunroof the only thing that was aftermarket was the rear entertainment screens which I've since changed to brand new ones as the looked a little dated.. Updated sat nav

Hi Geoff, I don't have any written proof that it came with FSH it was verbal, but we have exchanged about 70 messages via what's app ect regarding this and not once has he stated it doesn't have a FSH or "I never said it had a fsh" ECT so to me there lies the proof it should have one should it go to court I shall keep the messages.
