Black smoke underload

Hi guys I am new here just at a bit of a loose end with my red.
My intercooler hoses blew which was sorted , since then I'm getting black smoke with a lumpy idle till warm from cold.
I had it checked by lr amd said egr high fault, so I then changed the egr valves but car is just as bad.

It is far worse in sports mode when in too high a gear and power up. But does it when in automatic.
My sensors have been cleaned as has the air filter etc.

I had a smoke test done and smoke came out from the inlet manifold seal between the plastic and the metal case but there is no visible oil or spray anywhere under the bonnet.
They also said injector number four smooth running came up on diagnostic.

I have not got a clue where to go now with the car as it just seem to be one problem after another with the lr brand.
My car is a rrs v8 3.6 2008 model.
Any help be appreciated as all I can see is £££££££ in endless labour fees at lr.

If I accelerqte in sport mode no smoke whatsoever through the box, only when under load or too high a gear.

Any help whatsoever be great as I'm mechanically knowledagble and know somethings def not looking good lol[/list]

Black smoke is top much fuel or not enough air. A smooth running fault would possibly point towards an over fuelling injector, boost leak, turbo issue, or lack of compression...

I'm tempted to go down the overfuelling or faulty injector also as everything else was checked by lr , turbos eyes etc.

To add insult to it all its now intermittently giving me a suspension red alarm .. Lucky white Heather eh lol

I guess I'll need to book it in for another diagnostic when I can as all I was told was number four injector and no idea which one is number four also!! Knowing my luck it'll be the hardest one to get to costing me more labour costs... I love this car lol not

I am unsure if an injector clean is something to do prior to paying out hundreds for a new injector and labour tbh

I'd suggest money would be better spent on a decent couple hours diagnostic work than an injector clean...

Yeh I think your right too as pointless guessing on each thing. I actually think before I changed the egrs it was smoking , the lumpiness has just started since they were fitted, so either the eyes are faulty which have been tested as ok, then some connection isn't right somewhere , thanks also ill get it booked in and wait for the end bill lol

A well known fault. But are you sure it is just the inlet manifold ? Did you also get codes read ?

I ask only as I replaced mine a while back. When it failed there was no black smoke etc it just threw a fit when you put the engine under any significant load and pinged up a red restricted performance triangle. So pottering abou under 2k revs ok: boot it and restricted mode.

Well they said couldnt do a diagnosis or the computer said this cause this was leaking, i dont have any warnings at all on the car.
I am at a loss myself as the manifold is costing £800 and if this us then an injector its all gotta come out again and guess ive gotta pay another 6hrs labour etc.

The only thing that happened was the intercooler hoses burst and then limp mode.
I dont know if the leak in the inlet manifold could have happened then, obv the hoses were renewed.
