I got mine done at my local indie. Not much help to you in Essex I know, but I don't think its a major job so would expect most competent and trustworthy garages would be able to help.

Also just did a quick search and found this - there are probably others:

If I had to do it again I would certainly consider having a go myself Robin

The actual name is "timed climate"

As well as giving the ability to preheat the interior in cold weather, it also gives the option to cool it at this time of year Wink

To be fair, the timed cooling can be substituted by opening all the windows when you unlock it. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

Enable timed climate

Hi all, I have a RRS 2012, I don't have the timed climate icon available on the via the menu. My Indie expert tells me I need to have the module fitted for the icon to appear. I'm not interested in have a remote key I'm quite happy to program the night before. So if I just what to program the heater for the next morning do I have to invest in the radio module and key fob or is it just a case of updating the car config?

Thanks for reading

Fuel Burning Heater remote..

Timed Climate can be added via a change in the CCF using a GAP II tool (or other).
This will allow either pre heating using the under bonnet Fuel Burning Heater, or Cooling (where the interior fans are activated to provide air movement inside the car). This does not mean aircon, as this would require the engine to be running.

If activated only in the CCF, with no additional hardwares added, then the timer needs setting the night before.
If hardware is fitted (Altox is popular as it has some useful additions if you like that sort of thing... Webasto also have a remote unit), then the car can be accessed via an App/SMS/telephone call to set the timer.

There are a few guys here, and on the Disco4 and Disco3 forum that can do this for you. Suggest you repost or have a search. Wiring is usually already fitted, or under bonnet direct fit to the FBH also possible.

Thanks v much for the info Bardley Very Happy ... I thought it was just a case of updating the CCF but my indie insisted that I would need the telestart module, I did explain to him I wasn't interested in the remote just the ability to set a timer for the night before.

Remote is handy, but not necessary. Depends on how many gadgets you want really.
If you get hold of someone withthe GAPII pro version, they can enable it for you. About a 5 min. Job!!!

Anyone in the Monmouthshire area with a GAPII pro who can enable timed climate function?
