Land Rover extended Warranty

Hi All,

Agreed a purchase on a 2012 RRS with 73k miles. The vehicle in question is being warranty inspected on Friday by the main dealer and if good, the seller will buy a warranty and I'll buy the car.

However, reading on here, is the land rover warranty any good?

I've read reports of cracked crank shafts and the warranty not replacing the engine? How can that be.

I wanted the warranty for piece of mind... but wondering now.

Has anyone has succesful claims with the extend warranty

Thanks
Elliot

AFAIK LR extended warranty is the best

However I got my RR from a franchise so it was what they offered. Not sure about other third party warranties but LR also covers MOTs as well.

Life's too short to worry about a problem that only appears in a small percentage of cars. The problem with these internet forums is we all live in a little Range Rover echo chamber and problems can seem more prolific than they are. Unlucky if it does happen but it never put me off picking up 42k worth of motor. It does seem that if you buy from LR franchise, have the LR approved used warranty and have a LR service history then good will replacements of knackered crankshafts are possible. There are a myriad of other issues more likely than the famous crankshaft.

Just get the warranty, pick up the car and enjoy it Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply Thumbs Up

I do understand that these forums tend to highlight the negatives and hardly anyone ever comes ons and says my RRS didn't have a fault this year.

Buy a car, any car, and drive the hell out of it. If it breaks it breaks. No one has a crystal ball 2006 RRS Supercharged 4.2 HST muthuaflecka!
