Rear sensors - problem

2006 Sport. Rear sensors sometimes constantly on when in reverse. LL Garage have checked the continuity and cannot find anything wrong - of cause when in the garage they were working..wouldn't you know it!! I am thinking there might be some part of the sensor mechanism that is faulty, perhaps a part I could replace to see it cures the problem?!? Any advice?!? Andrew Kennedy

They register an object sometimes?

or they give an error tone on startup ?

I had one registering an object sometimes and the only way I found out which one it was, was to plug in my £400 IID fault reader and read the distances reported by each sensor. I could then see which one was playing up at that time and replace it.

If you don't want to pay £400 + a new sensor. It's probably easier just to replace all 4 sensors for around £40 off ebay. and keep the old ones as spares.
