Improving TDV8 Exhaust sound

Hey guys

Is there any mods i can do to the standard exhaust system on a 2007 tdv8
to improve sound, had a look underneath looks like i have some kind of box on centre section
will removing this box make a difference to sound ?
thanks.

Yes it will make a difference, how it sounds at speed is another matter. I have a slight drone at 60+mph on my petrol and I can live with it because it sounds awesome at slower speeds. I do get a constant high pitched sound at all speeds but only when the wife’s in the car, I’ve tuned myself out of this now. 2012 5.0 SC AB

I think the usual thing is to modify the rear boxes:

Or a straight through system is possible and sounds great:

2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Cheers lads, anyone know what diameter the standard centre section pipes are
Can I just cut silencer box off from centre section & replace with stainless exhaust tube ?

Took the rear backboxes of mine for handyness.. sounds awesome going up the rev range... taking off from still is class, gets attention cause its just pure v8 noise Thumbs Up .

Removing the backboxes for me on idle is deeper than standard but nice, not loud or doesnt sound like a diesel tractor either.

This along with a remap and it goes like a train..
