Leaning on RRS Doors

One of my mates went to have a service in South London and whilst he was talking to the mechanic the guy was leaning on his door and talking to him.

Got me thinking, would the weight of someone leaning on your door outside the vehicle with the door open actually damage it or can the hinges on RRS vehicles take a fair bit of weight?

I've wondered it in the past when friends have leaned on my car doors but never stopped to really think about it.

Thanks!

LOL that made me laugh and no not that severe, I guess more like this;

But whilst having a conversation and possibly leaning a bit more on the door.

Having said that I looked at both his doors and the one that the guy didn't lean on at all is far more out of whack than the one he did lean on lol.

But it got me thinking, does leaning on car doors like that damage them, I mean you're only putting your partial weight on the thing for a short period of time, never thought about it before.

I know in car audio you can't put too much weight inside the door as it will start to sag, don't know about the hinges on LR cars would imagine they'd be quite strong on some models!

Thanks

Yeah I guess like an average build 5ft10/11 11/12/13 stone male.

Just leaning on the door for 4/5mins having a convo.

My mate didn't say anything but asked me so i wondered if it would actually do anything to the hinges of an L494 door.

Obviously his whole weight wasn't on the door as he was just leaning on it but still wonder how much the hinges can take and for how long especially when the door is open and not closed in its frame.
