Infotainment down

Hi all

I had to drive through a fairly bumpy barley field yesterday, and got the front lower grill full of barley heads, Anyway, I unblocked it at the field side with a bamboo cane & 5 mins later the radio spluttered out of life, so there is now no life in the centre infotainment system.

So, just before closing time I popped into LRS in north Essex (who are brilliant by the way) and they did a diagnostic, & crossed the battery terminals etc.. and diagnosed a fault in the MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) circuit which is a series of ECU's linked by fibre optic. If one fails they all fail so I'm told it's a case of finding which one. Anyone had this issue?

Also, there is a wire running along the front of the radiator where I poked the stick about 10 minutes before the infotainment system stopped. I've checked it's still connected but is this wire anything to do with the MOST circuit? I would guess not as its more likely to do with thermostat or something but if it is I may have knackered it in that area? Anyone know if that wire is in the MOST circuit?

It's booked in with Proveeda in Ipswich (who are also great) on Tuesday but I'd like to be able to give them a clue if it could be anything to do with this wire..

Thanks all Smile

Haha Daxmatt! No, a simple case of too far to walk to see the far field!
