Memory Seats Height Issue

Hi,

I seem to have a problem with the memory seats on my MY16 car. It's still under warranty, so ultimately I'll make it LRs problem, but would like an idea of whether anyone else has had this issue and what the fix was!

I have set the memory position by pushing M and then the number.
When I stop the car, the steering wheel rises and seat drops to "aid" me getting out (I find the wheel bit OK but the seat dropping actually makes it harder! If you can stop this please let me know).
When I come back to the car and start it, the seat moves a very small amount, but not to the original full height that I had set it to. Pressing and holding the corresponding memory button does not work, either - it stays in the same place.
This means every time I get in the car I'm having to adjust the seat height manually, which is getting a bit tiresome!

Any suggestions?

Thanks MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

Do you press M then the memory number until you hear the gong and get a message in the dash screen? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Could it that you don’t use the same key fob every time then? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Nope - I only ever use the one fob.

Even if you're in the car, store a setting and then move the seat again - pressing the relevant number will only move the seat slightly and not to the original position.
I think it's mainly the height that it has the problem with but haven't confirmed this, yet. MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

My seat doesn’t move when I stop the car, neither does the steering wheel.

Have you tried turning off the auto mode for the steering wheel? That should stop the wheel and seat moving when you stop the car but you may still have a problem with the memory function.

Not the same problem butI find quite often that if I only press the memory function once , it adjusts a little bit but no where near to where it should and doesn't move the wheel at all , however if I press it again and hold on the button it will go to the correct position . Just a landrover quirck

I had the same problem with my 17MY, dealer sorted it under warranty, but I think it's started again!

Thanks for the tip on the steering wheel - it's a shame you can't change it so just the wheel moves and not the seat!

Chips - I tried what you suggested but it seems mine doesn't have the same quirk!

ianmo - do you know what they did to (temporarily, perhaps) resolve it?

Looks like I better get it booked in, anyway! MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

In the olden days, the pedals were adjustable and used to move out the way too.

The best description I have seen to describe this feature, on a Jaguar forum I think, is FMIO - Fat Man In and Out. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB
