2017 RRS 3.0 SDV6 Hybrid Autobiography Dynamic

I may have one of the last diesel hybrids....just bought a pre-registered 21.12.17 ATB DYN with 17 miles.
Farallon black with black Oxford, sliding panoramic roof, electric deployable side steps, electric deployable towbar, mud-flaps all around, privacy glass, soft-close doors, and rest of Autobiography stuff....very happy....

Farallon Black is by far one of the best colours to come out of the JLR palette IMHO Thumbs Up

Enjoy

Thank you my friend!

Strangely I did have a 2016 RR SDV8 ATB in Farallon Black for a short while too but had to send it back....it was in the dealership for longer than I'd owned it Smile...a lovely colour in the sunlight

And I've found the hybrid does provide as much torque as the SDV8...chuffed so far...

early days as I've only done around 200 miles so far....~ 65 miles run back (A45, M45, M1) from the dealer showed ~ 35 mpg which TBH isn't that bad as I was trying it out a bit... I remember my 2016 RRS 3.0SDV6 HSE averaging around 30 mpg overall.

35mpg........ I get better in day to day driving in a non Hybrid SDv6....... not a lot better but better! Have you utilised the 1 mile electric only range at all? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, I expect that to change as I put the journeys and miles on it....as I said only the first journey home from picking it up and I was trying it out...

I guess the other thing is..the hybrid still carries another 250kg above the SDV6 too which doesn't do the mileage any good either Smile

I think it will certainly be getting over 40mpg overall and higher on some longer runs.

With EV auto mode - engine kicks in as soon as it sees you above ~ 1000rpm...I've got to give it some time to try and play with it. I've not forced the EV only mode yet so I'll try it at some point BUT I recon it hasn't a hope in hell of getting to 1 mile...1/2 mile maybe tops...but we'll see.

Torque/overall power is great but I'm actually surprise it's been limited / no higher than my previous 3.0 SDV6 (306) at 700nm...an Alive re-map will probably be due at some point in the future. 2017 Range Rover Sport 3.0 SDV6 Hybrid (354) Autobiography Dynamic - Farallon/Black Oxford

Hi Waggers

The Hybrid is delivering much more torque than the sdv6, Especially on the start up and in the overtake, but not long term.
I think you have to wait until the new cars „drive-in“ mode sets up the whole system to the full power, after several miles.

The fuel consumption is 1.5 up th 2.5 liters/100 km less than a standard sdv6, as the additional weight is doubled recovered by the added power from the electric engine, you will see this in a few month of use.

Enjoy your car and congratulations Thumbs Up

2017 RRS 3.0 SDV6 Hybrid Autobiography Dynamic

Quick update having now had the car for approx 5 months and travelled approx 4000 miles.

Fuel consumption based upon 25% motorway, rest a combination of short journeys of few miles to approx 15-20miles and in town/traffic/urban. Cars tacho for all 4000 miles reading at 38.5 mpg on average.

Niggles, everytime you slow to standstill / stop at junction/roundabout car goes to electric/engine off mode resulting in hesitation on pulling away again. I'd like a bit of a pause at standstill without the dead cut-off at roundabout / junction when it may just be a check and go still...

I'm also finding myself driving in "Dynamic" mode most of the time to get quicker/more urgency in response. I prefer this mode with more responsiveness and improved handling dynamics overall. It does suffer from the extra 160kg for the electric motor/batteries and the overall 354bhp isn't with you all the time to give you maximum boost and torque.

I'm now pondering fitting a PedalBox per my other Rangies and an eCU remap.

All in all though still very happy having fitted an Milltek rear exhaust with Urban carbon finishers in replacement to the OEM stainless turn-down tips.

Thanks

Steve

Steve is it possible that you run with the auto stop/start operating and may be pressing the footbrake a bit too hard thus triggering the stop/start system at road junctions, if you are lighter on the footbrake the stop start won’t cut in......... or try pressing the button to inhibit auto stop start on the Centre console and see if that makes any difference. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Actually it's a bit of a weird one really...not just related to Stop/Start functions that I do sometimes turn off too keeping the engine on...in the Hybrid any activity with brake hold or simply just no accelerator pedal results in the engine cut and forced EV mode. You then go to accelerate and engine cuts back in...ITS A FEATURE Smile 2017 Range Rover Sport 3.0 SDV6 Hybrid (354) Autobiography Dynamic - Farallon/Black Oxford

Yep, I have a plug in hybrid and it will do the same in some modes, but always defaults to electric drive for start up if there is enough energy in the battery - but I have 26 miles electric range and when you want to press on both motors work together and it doesn’t half give you a kick in the back when you ask for more using the kickdown function - it has such a good kick that so far I haven’t tried it’s Sport setting or the sequential gear shift. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
