United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
sell or keep

Long story short.

We have a Porsche Boxster 981 s which is my daily driver, circa 70 miles per day.

My missus has an 07 tdv8 RR sport diesel which has HST kit and looks very good for age.
Trouble is she has taken a new job and will be doing 40 miles per day on her own. So it seems a bit of a lump to use and its pretty expensive to run, average 24 mpg ish.
It has high miles @ 132k but it just looks such good condition, wheels are really clean, its had the turbos replaced, hand brake control done and Air suspension pump replaced, so its pretty much a great car.

Trouble is, if she sells it with the mileage as is, she not gonna get a lot of money.
We accept that we will need to put a few quid in to get her something else nice but I have suggested keeping it as car number 3 and then me to use it in the winter and cover up the Boxster.

So the dilemma is: do we sell, albeit at silly money?
What to get to replace: like the Porsche Macan S in diesel PDK?

Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions.

Update:

It's in today, new brake pads, suspension arms, full servie, MOT tracking etc.

Will be around 1700 quid lighter by end of the day, so I think keep.

The car really is a goodun but Mrs Wilpert wants a change and something a bit sportier and we dont want to risk an out of warranty RR sport.

Update on the decision:

Collected the car from the garage, £1,720-00 lighter.
Full service - front pads - wishbones - bushes - tracking etc.

drove it and it feels like a new car, unbelievably smooth and no vibration whatsoever.
I hope its not to good to be true but I will have to keep it come what may.

Still on the lookout for another car but hopefully this has bought some time whilst we wait.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

If you are worried the TDv8 will be too costly on fuel then and you want to keep the Boxter, i’ll throw in a curve ball........ a used Evoque Coupe but go for one between late 2013 and September 2016 (the last of the pre-facelift ones) 2.2 diesel SD4 or the 2.0ltr Si4 Petrol and the 9 speed auto NOT the 6 speed OR a used Jaguar F Type with the V6 S/C petrol and AWD - you could even get rid of the Boxter if you went for the F Type coupe as they are perfectly usable year round. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Good input here thanks,

I'm slowly being lured in by the Porsche Macan S PDK
Happy to share this link for honest opinions

http://www.imperials.co.uk/used-car-detail.../id-41372/

Ive seen a couple and a well specced model around 2 years old, sells for circa 40k
A similar specced RR would be a fair bit more expensive for such a late model.

I like the Evoque and I feel that they tick all of the boxes but my missus doesnt share my feelings.

The discos look pretty tempting too and if I'm correct I seem to be seeing more around, is this since the later shape came about making them a bit more popular?

I imagine the Porsche build quality would be better than the RR....not really difficult though. Steve.
