Ghost immobiliser prevents remote climate on app?

i assume remote climate via the smartphone app is not possible if you have the ghost immobiliser installed because the engine needs to be turned on remotely and of course the ghost requires your pin.

can someone with the ghost immobiliser confirm please.

if my assumptions are correct, do you have a method to get around this?

That is a good question.

I started mine from the app even though I have the ghost installed. I did it without really thinking about the ghost, it started and ran as intended.

I guess the ghost only kicks in when the push to start button is pushed.

now i have ghost installed, i can confirm my suspicions were right.

when i tap the "Engine START 30 min" button on the smartphone, the display gets stuck on "engine starting" and eventually fails after approx 60 seconds.

strange that james doesnt have any problems.

Yes it is strange as i have heard all sorts of problems with this Ghost. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Mine works on my 2017 car- the remote start function that is.

Haven’t tested my 2018 as the ghost isn’t installed yet.

I did recall it throwing up a few faults on the dash afterwards that quickly went away after a minute or 2 though.

I ll try it again tomorrow so I m not imagining it !

Any issues I’ve read about to do with the ghost are usually attributed to poor installation. Fitting to the wrong bus network etc. 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR

Just an update...

Spoke to autowatxh and apparently its not possible to remote climate on 2018 rrs.
Previous years I’m told are fine

mine (Audi S4) could be programmed to either immobilise the cars engine starting or stop the gear box from selecting drive as its a electronic gear box

If you opted for the latter, the engine can start, with out the code, would that not solve the issue (assuming you have eletronic gear selectors)

I'd guess that even if it did you would have to stop the engine and start it again, unless the button presses can be input while the remote climate engine is running?

the installer said the engine could be running, (manual in my case) and all the functions will work, defrosting the car, but you could select a gear until the code is entered

i've sat in mine and entered code 10 mins later without issue
