Hi all, I have put a question about my suspension in another thread, but I think I have found the fault in the engine compartment fuse box and it is the fusible link 60amp that has blown.
My question is; should I take into a garage to get sorted or can I find somewhere that sells fusible links and replace it myself?

Hi Andy, yes the small square yellow 60amp one, the one that does the compressor circuit. I assume you just pull the old one out like you do a fuse?

Its probably blown for a reason. Is the compressor tired and drawing to much current? 2012 5.0 SC AB

Brit Plumber, not sure about that? Tired maybe I wouldn't have a clue about the voltage? I've just dug through some old info I had a fault code of C1A20-64, pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure., but that was in April 17. Since then an occasional yellow light but it always cleared, this time it just went yellow warning light and wouldn't go off, and just found the j-fuse popped!

Better get a couple of fuses.
As the new one could blow straight away.

If it does. Disconnect large compressor wires.
If it blows then it's the cars wiring.

You can swap the fuse for a 55w headlight bulb to help trace wiring shorts.
When the bulbs on bright the short exists

Could use a 100 or 130 w on this circuit

Best to bridge relay out if doing this

Ok thanks Andy, I was going to order a few just in case, actually knowing my luck the first one would have popped just to wind me up
If it gets to using light bulbs or bridging the relay then that is beyond my knowledge i'm afraid, but thanks for the suggestions.

Hi all, an update to this thread.
Bought two j fuses blown them So have had to book in to a garage for a diagnostic. Had a conversation with the guy who told me that if it is the compressor then all in it will be £1100 to do as the compressors have been up graded to an AMK speck? and have to get direct from landrover and it will then need to be coded to my car ?

Any thoughts?

I don't think hitachi compressors are available anymore? (or costly) so AMK fitted and it required a software update.

cover doesn't fit too well afterwards either

Hi PC76 and Andy K, the garage will do the diagnostics on Thursday so I will be in a better position then to know what is needed to be done.
Thanks for the info, I have seen the topic that you have linked to PC6I7, I will see what is quoted by the garage and then contact Advance Factors and see what they can do if it is the compressor that is needed.

Hi all, further update.
The diagnostic was carried out today and the compressor was verified as the fault, ( not holding pressure) the local 4x4 garage i am intending to use say they will only use genuine LR parts and have in their quote listed the following
part number: (LR072537LR) .

I shall of course take my time in perusing the tinternet for a more moderate price for the part in question and I will of course contact Advanced Factors to see if there compressor is the same as needed and a better price than I was quoted.

Will further update when I know more.
