Thoughts on supercharged.....

IVE BEEN OFFERED THIS

“For sale is my 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 HSE fitted with a subtle sports exhaust that sounds excellent. The car has a full service history from new and flew through its last MOT. The car has also recently had 4 brand new Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres fitted at a cost of almost £1000.

The car has only had 3 previous owners from new, has been very well looked after and really wants for nothing. The car drives flawlessly and feels silky smooth thanks to the 4.4 V8 engine”

He wants £8,250 on a 2005 plate with 90k miles

Im thinking offer £7k

Thoughts?

ok how about the 5litre supercharged Micky? Can pick one up circa £18k with one owner and around 52k miles

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ad...amp;page=1

Seems a good un as long as they have had the super charger serviced?

Anything else I should look out for pls

Super chargers themselves don't need much servicing.
An oil change once in its life.

5.0 S/C still surprises me when I get them in.

More than quick enough to get yourself into trouble Laughing

Fairly trouble free.

Any chain noises at front if engine, don't ignore

Andyjay123,

Re the 4.4.HSE I believe I am aware of the car you are referring to. I spoke to the seller who told me he was a private seller who now has a work provided car. I should add that I also found another 4.4 HSE prior listed/advertised by same seller. Make of that what you will...perhaps he bought one then another to replace it with & within a close timescale.

One oddity was the car had an odd coloured door handle.

If the specific 4.4 is truly perfect & GENUINELY wants for nothing, (including underside, all fluids, brake lines, discs, pads, cosmetics & servicing) , then IMO the vehicle is already priced well.

I was watching prices on these a good while before I bought mine 3 months and including that specific vehicle.

A decent 5.0 SC is almost in another league in terms of performance/dynamics ...and so it should be if the asking is more than twice the price of the 4.4 HSE mentiined in 1st post.

The seller wanted £8,2000 however it’s only worth £6k at best after valuing it on Autotrader. He won’t take less than £8k.
Sounds like he’s a trader to me! 2006 RRS Supercharged 4.2 HST muthuaflecka!

The following is a general comment....not relating to that car or seller. I don't have issue buying from a trader but I do have an issue with home or small time traders who pretend to be private sellers and thus alleviate themselves of legal responsibilities to buyers.

Despite what AT numbers may suggest, the reality is that tidy 4.4 HSE models in lower tax band are hard to find. If there had been an abundance of examples out there wanting for nothing & sourceable for circa £6k I would have probaby sourced accordingly.
