Supercharger pulley

I've just been browsing 4.2 modifications and came across the charger pulley swap that gives 40bhp more for £158.
Also a company recons they can put a 10% reduced diameter pulley combined with remap to get circa 615bhp.
Has anyone got any experience of this?
I'm not into tuning but £158 for 40bhp plus torque seems ok to me.

There is an old saying about things that look too good to be true.......... do they also make claims about improving the fuel consumption? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

April 1st has been and gone, they reckon they can push a 385bhp 4.2L up to around 615bhp with just a pulley and remap, I don't think so. Alive tuning couldn't get that on my 5.0L S/C with a pulley upgrade and remap and that starts of at 510bhp.

I agree that some of the claims may be a bit wild but putting a smaller pulley on is the same as increasing boost on a turbocharger so it must do something..

I have an upgraded supercharger pulley (10%) and it was well worth the money.

I also have a remap. Well worth the money. (500hp)

Do I have 600+hp.. no.. Noisy black one

Can anyone recommend a pulley upgrade brand for a 2015 scv8?

And do we know if the supercharger oil should be changed? I looked in the workshop manual, but there is no mention of it, nor even of what brand supercharger is fitted.

Any information on the supercharger maintenance would be great, thanks Thumbs Up --

The Supercharger is a Eaton TVS R1900 or it was on the original third generation AJ133 5.0L although it may have changed by now.

So far these options look good for the pulley upgrade, in order of cost:

$195 @ Velocity AP: https://www.velocityap.com/product/jaguar-...er-pulley/

$215 @ EuroToys: https://www.eurotoysltd.com/product/range-...lley-5-0l/

£299 @ Paramount Performance/Viezu: https://www.paramount-performance.com/rang...ulley.html

got a very snotty email reply from PowerHouseUK, needless to say, they're not getting my business.

I take it the quality is pretty much the same from these tuners? --

I've toyed with the idea of a trip to David Appleby Engineering for their pulley and ECU (£1248 fitted) as they are only eight miles away. However, will the gearbox and the rest of the transmission cope with 600 BHP and a hike in torque too?

this is why I'm only keen for the pulley upgrade - a modest power upgrade (20-30hp), but improves the driveability. --
