MY18/19 headlights.

Just about to order SDV8 HSE to replace my 2014 SDV6 which has been a great car and very reliable. Was always disappointed with the Xenon headlights which I am sure weren't as good as my 2008 RRS mainly in distance illumination.
Had the sales person bring me a demo with Matrix LEDs last night to test and still not impressed. Thought the side illumination was great but very little penetration down the road. Does anyone have the upgraded Pixel or Pixel-laser Leds on the car?
Hired a Merc GL250 a few weeks ago and thought the lights on that were really good. Didn't really like much else on it though apart from the ride.
Also a bit disappointed to learn that the 105ltr tank has been dropped in favour of 86ltr. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!
1983 2 door Range Rover ARB Bar X9000 winch ARB Rear Bar now semi retired.
Many big trips done in this one.
1982 Rangerover nearly restored.
22 Defender D250 with lots of stuff for outback touring
Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!
2013 Land Rover Defender ute.

I've got a MY18 RRS AB with the Pixel Laser lights.

They are fantastic. The lights take a bit of getting used to at night because their constantly dancing around with on coming headlights and maintaining the shadow around cars infront - this works tremendously well. The 'Laser' element only works when the road ahead is completely dark and / or unlit and is night and day (pardon the pun) better than a car with standard xenons.

I find a car with LEDs a little inferior to oldschooll xenon tech in terms of 'reach' although their brighter - this is where the laser headlights make up the reach and more. MY18 RRS Autobiography SDV6 (Awaiting delivery)

Thanks for that. I will have a good think about it... The Pixel laser lights are very expensive down here, nearly $7000. I might be better off just getting some driving lights but they won't be easy to fit. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!

I had the Lazer headlights on my Velar First Edition - never found them useful unless on country roads and would not have spec'd them myself (they were standard on the FE Velar). I now have the LED units on my 2018 RRS and I think these are brilliant and good enough...I don't miss the laser units at all.

I would go the driving lights did look at light bar on mine but the headlights aren't too bad and I am doing less night driving as I age. You will never get the money back when you change vehicles and for the entry price I think you'll do better with after market. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
