Here's Bradders :)

After a couple of years away I have returned to the fold Very Happy

I picked up my 'new' toy today - a black, bog standard 2006 S/C. I missed messing with the oily bits so the M135i got part ex'd and I drove off with a few £££'s in my pocket which I will undoubtedly spend on keeping this old truck on the road.

It's a 1 owner, full LRSH (not that that means very much) with 68k on the clock. Previous owner did both radiators, rear discs and pads and new Brembo calipers upfront last service - glad I didn't fork out for that little lot. Typically it had 42psi all round when I collected it.....

Good to see some familiar names still around.

Piccies to follow Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
Ex 2006 RRS SC - garbage
Ex 2016 135i M Sport - dream car
Ex 2003 RS6 Avant - piece of cr*p
Ex 2014 320d X Drive, M Sport Touring - ok I guess
Ex 2007 RRS TDV8 - bloody loved it
EX 2007 FL2 XS - not so bad

Thanks chaps. It's in pretty good condition for its age. It's hard not be be critical coming from a 2 year old car.

It's certainly a different drive to the M135i Laughing It's about 3 years since i sold the TDV8 and I've only driven the SC back from Rochdale to Leeds and I have to say it's not the beast I was expecting it to be. The 135i had 320bhp and weighed around a ton less so the extra weight of the SC certainly dulls the performance by comparison. We bought it for its long distance cruising ability as both junior Bradders now live in London.

Just got to learn to control the right foot - currently on 10.8 mpg Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

It arrived unannounced at the dealership yesterday while I was in there squaring up the paperwork.......... it will be handed over on the 15th. I just hope it works out, I was really smitten by it on the 4 days test drive, also the lady friend has a 2.0ltr 2015 Mini Roadster that I have driven and it is an absolute hoot ...... but no longer made and visibility out of the rear windscreen with the hood up is almost zero but drop the hood and it feels like you are doing a tonne when really you are doing about 50 so as not to spoil her hairdo! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Up to 75mph in EV mode before you get the boost from the petrol engine unless you are foot flat to floor when both engines run together (it’s an i8 in drag with the petrol engine driving the front wheels instead of being a generator like it is in the i8 and i3RE). Also the combined use of the 1.5 turbo 3 cylinder together with the battery makes it the fastest accelerating Mini of all, even out-sprints the JCW specials! 45mpg (according to existing users ) in petrol only mode too isn’t too bad from lugging around the extra 150kgs of batteries that the JCW Countryman doesn’t have. 26 miles electric range does me nicely for 95% of my driving these days and up here I can use public chargers for free (well £20pa for the special swipe card) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You aren’t trying hard enough! You know you are enjoying it when the mpg drops to 5-6mpg on the totally optimistic trip computer, just put it in S mode and lock out 6th and go for it. I did a trip with Jaymann, Kam100 and Si in his 4.2 S/C and he had to stop at Fleet Services to refuel after fueling up leaving Bournemouth for a trip up to London as the satnav was only able to show the route to the nearest fuel station......... he always drove it in S not D and wondered why the consumption was so horrendous all the time! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
