Best engine

At the moment I have a 4.4 va petrol on 56 plate and looking to upgrade to newer model
My budget will be around £20,000
I’ve seen problems on here with 5.0 s/c
And problems with block cracking on some Diesil engines
Any recommendations
Thanks
Cosmo

Each engine has its own issues. The 3 litre diesels can have a crankshaft issue, the TDV8 can have turbo issues. Which diesel is having cracked blocks? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The 5.0 S/C is relatively problem-free and a superb engine to boot.

SDV6 can have crank problems too but in the minority but if it goes it's still a new crank Thumbs Up

3.0 since when Question Question Question

My 3.0 L320 literally hassle free and anything I did have issues with was covered by the 2 yr used car warranty. So a bit liberal with that assumption, 3.0 litres are excellent in my opinion

I have owned three 3Ltr V6s, one TDV6 and 2SDV6 and covered about 75000 miles in them and never had a single engine problem.

I collected 5.0 s/c today and the performance is outstanding for such a heavy motor
Thank you for all the replies regarding what engine

I know what you mean, Cosmo.

I've had my SCV8 for about a week now and every time I drive it, I have this massive grin on my face. Thumbs Up

Gave a ride to a friend yesterday and did a standing start... he was blown away by the acceleration, and said it felt quicker than his BMW bike --

I took out my friends son in mine last weekend and he thinks it’s similar performance to his mums Audi SQ5 but I’m convinced it’s quicker. 2012 5.0 SC AB
